Airspace Information

The airspace controlled by Iran vACC is separated into 7 sectors. Please use the following page to get familiarized with our airspace.

General Information

In real life, Tehran FIR is covered by 7 radar positions, due to the volume of traffic. However, we on VATSIM rarely have the real need for staffing all 7 radar positions. That is why, when an ATC controller is online, he/she will connect as Tehran Radar (132.500 MHz) and control the entire Tehran Radar Airspace. Also, this controller is in charge for any other position inside the FIR when those positions are offline. You can learn more about this below.

Facility Radio Frequency
Tehran Radar (General) 132.500 MHz
Tehran Radar Sector 1 119.300 MHz
Tehran Radar Sector 2 125.700 MHz
Tehran Radar Sector 3 126.900 MHz
Tehran Radar Sector 4 133.400 MHz
Tehran Radar Sector 5 120.300 MHz
Tehran Radar Sector 6 123.900 MHz
Tehran Radar Sector 7 120.700 MHz

Flight Levels

Pilots maintain a specified flight level during the flight. The rules are simple – if the flight is westbound, altitude should be even and if it is eastbound, it should be odd. In Iran, we use Reduced Vertical Separation Minimums this means that the difference between opposite-directional routes will be 1000 ft. Below image is visualizing the principle of vertical separation.
